Françoise Dürr is a retired French professional tennis player, who was active between 1962 and 1982. She was born on December 25, 1942, in Algiers, Algeria, and was known for her aggressive style of play and exceptional footwork on the court.
Dürr won a total of 26 singles titles, including four Grand Slam doubles titles: two at the French Open (in 1967 and 1970) and two at the US Open (in 1969 and 1971). She also won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles: two at Wimbledon (in 1976 and 1977) and one at the Australian Open (in 1977).
Throughout her career, Dürr was ranked as high as No. 3 in the world in singles and No. 1 in doubles. She was also a member of the French team that won the Fed Cup five times between 1963 and 1974.
Dürr retired from professional tennis in 1982 and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2003. She has since become a respected coach and commentator in the sport.
